The short answer

A website for a coach or consultant can cost anything from a monthly template subscription to five figures. The difference isn't the number of pages. It's how much thinking goes into getting the right visitor to book a call or buy.

For reference, these are my starting prices:

PackageFromBest for
Launch$1,800 (₦750,000)New coaches who need to look established, up to 5 pages, in 2–3 weeks
Growth$4,500 (₦1,800,000)Coaches who need the site to bring in leads: up to 10 pages, a landing page, analytics and lead capture
Signature$9,000 (₦3,500,000)Established brands running ads or launches who need a full funnel and automation
Sales page sprint$900 (₦350,000)One page for a programme, launch or ad campaign

Full details are on the pricing page.

What actually drives the price

1. Strategy, not pages

Five pages built from a template and five pages planned around how your clients decide are different jobs. The second one starts with questions: who is this for, what do they need to believe before they book, and what's the one next step? That thinking is most of the value, and most of the cost.

2. Words

A beautiful site with vague copy still won't convert. If you're writing your own copy, budget your time. If the designer reviews or writes it, expect that in the price.

3. What it connects to

Booking calendars, payment links, email lists, course platforms and CRMs all take time to set up and test properly. A form that looks fine but never delivers the message is one of the most common problems I find.

4. Sales pages and funnels

A single sales page for a programme is its own project, because it carries the whole argument for buying. Funnels with opt-ins, emails and checkout add more.

5. Custom design vs a template

Templates are cheaper and fine for a start. Custom design costs more but lets the site match your brand and your offer rather than someone else's layout.

The running costs people forget

  • Your domain name, renewed every year
  • Hosting, or your website builder's subscription
  • Paid plugins, themes or tools (booking, email marketing, page builders)
  • Care after launch: updates, backups, fixes and small changes. My Website Care plan is $300 (₦120,000) a month.

DIY, template or custom: how to decide

  • Do it yourself if you're still testing your offer and have more time than budget. Keep it to one clear page.
  • Get a simple professional site once your offer is clear and people are already asking how to work with you.
  • Invest in a conversion-focused build when you're spending money or effort on traffic (ads, podcasts, speaking, LinkedIn) and the site is where that attention lands.

A useful test: if one extra client a month would pay for the site within a year, the site is worth taking seriously.

Questions to ask before you pay anyone

  • What exactly is included, and what costs extra?
  • Who writes the words?
  • How many rounds of changes do I get?
  • Do I own the files and the domain when it's done?
  • What happens if something breaks after launch?
